Bison Bushcraft Double Hunting Knife Set

This pair of handmade knives from Bison Bushcraft are designed to compliment each other, both being made to the same profile with the handle scales cut from the same wood. They are made in the Scandinavian ‘Leuke’ style but are improved with the added strength of full tang construction. Roger Harrington of Bison Bushcraft has hand crafted these blades from the finest high carbon 01 grade tool steel, because these are working knives that may need to be regularly sharpened in the field. Although 01 tool steel doesn't have the corrosion resistance of some more commonly used surgical grade stainless steels, it is far easier to maintain a good edge on it. Each blade has the traditional flat Scandinavian grind in a modified drop point profile (which some might describe as a ‘utility’ blade). The smaller of the blades is 60mm (in 2mm steel) in length while the larger is 120 mm (in 3mm steel). They are both traditionally hardened and tempered to RC59 on the Rockwell hardness scale. The weight and balance of these knives is just right and between them the two sizes of knife will get any hunting job done from hide construction to paunching a bunny. A joy to own, these hard working knives will last a lifetime.

These knives have matching hardwood scales – there is a choice of several hardwoods, fruit woods or even antler if required. The handle scales are held on by brass machine screws and the wood is shaped to be comfortable in use, and to allow you to feel which way up either knife is in the dark. There is no bolster, guard or pommel, but there is a lanyard loop on each knife. 

The knives come complete with a hand stitched belt scabbard made from oak bark tanned leather that has a flexible belt loop for ease of carrying. These combination sets retail at around £340 depending on the steel required and handle options.
