Buck Bantum

The Buck Bantam folding lock back knife has been a firm favourite in the ‘Buck’ range for quite some time. For this year, the company has redesigned the handle as well as other slight modifications and cosmetically it’s surely now one of the more stylish looking and modern design folders on the market. A reason for this is the fact it now boasts 3-camo pattern covered handles. These are Realtree Xtra Camo, Orange Head Hunterz (as shown here) and Black Reaper Camo. The latter presumably being Buck’s own take on what is cosmetically cool camo.

Measuring 3.75” in the closed position it boasts a 2.75” Drop point 420HC Steel blade that deploys with dual thumbstuds. The textured thermoplastic ergonomic handle has a generous forefinger choil and ridges at the top for added grip. Balance is superb, helped by the sensible positioning of the heavy-duty mid-lock back mechanism. It also has an elongated lanyard hole for quick and easy attachment. The design of the handle is very clever and though slim, the positioning of the choil is such that it demands the hand falls into the correct grip on the very comfortable textured handle. Another carrying feature is the strong pocket clip riveted onto the right hand side of the handle. Although quite lengthy the design of this knife shows through once again, as it doesn’t affect your hold whether you’re right or left handed.
