Bulle Molle Bolt Pouch & Shooters Wallet

When we got this thin little zip bag, the first thought we had was: great for pencils, but what else?  Fortunately, the label on the box said ‘Bolt Assembly’, so bearing in mind that having your bolt out of your rifle during transport is a good thing from a safety point of view, we tried this out with our rifles.  The FN SPR .308 bolt fits perfectly inside - zip up - ready for transport separately from the rifle.  So did the Armalon AL42 bolt, although, with cock on open, probably not a good idea to leave it in there cocked for weeks on end. 

The Bulle MOLLE bolt assembly pouch is a 19cm long by 6cm wide and 3.5cm deep bag made of 1000D texturised Cordura. It zips open from top to bottom allowing for quick and easy storage of long, thin utilities from a rifle bolt up to the size of a large 9.6V 4000maH battery or similar. The YKK zip may be opened only halfway (bottom to top) so that the contents are accessible but will not fall out. The rear of the pouch is rubberised to help retain contents and protect the back of the pouch.

The zip pull is made of nylon cord which is easily maintained in the field. This pull terminates in a UTX-Flex plastic end, and the entire assembly eliminates excessive noise caused by traditional metal pulls.

The Bolt Assembly pouch has the advantage of being fully enclosed so that no part of the bolt remains exposed to the elements.  With the zip partially retracted, it can be used like a bolt holster as well. 

On the outside of the pouch, a secure belt loop is stitched onto the rear with MOLLE crosswebbing so you can adjust the width of the loop to the belt you are wearing - very handy as well for just attaching it to a loop on your trousers.  The pouch is a nice, compact and very transportable 19cm long, 6cm wide and 3.5cm deep which can go just about anywhere on your person (trouser belt, jacket, braces, etc.).  No more worries about bolts going missing when transported separately from the rifle, or whether you have somewhere clean to put it away at the end of your shoot.  At around half the price of a bolt holster, the bolt assembly pouch makes transporting the rifle safely, whether to a shoot or on the range, trouble and worry free.

Shooter’s Document Wallet

This shooter’s wallet was born out of a need to find something to put all your shooting paperwork into; various certification cards, memberships, keys, coins and other bits you need to take to shoots. Actually, it is a hybrid of a wallet, A6 notepad holder and map pocket, all in one.  At 14cm x 18cm x 2.5cm, it is a good fit for most leg or jacket pockets.  For those of us who need it to be wearable, it can be fitted with MOLLE adaptable strapping to go on a belt or anything which is MOLLE compatible.  The front of the pouch is Velcro for badges, name tapes and other bits and pieces.

On opening the pouch, you have space for a 10 x15cm (that’s 4x6” or A6) notepad to be fitted inside; great for making notes about aim points, specific range orders or whatever you need for quick reference.  Next comes a foldable weatherproof A5 document wallet which is clear on both sides; ideal for FAC, RCO duty information, map, etc. Right at the back is the multi-pocket section with four credit card sized pockets at the front, and a larger pocket behind.  The right hand side pocket has a strip of Velcro over the top for extra security; the odd key and a little spare cash will also fit into it.

Some elastics on the far right help to retain anything else that might be useful, plus there are two pen holding elastics, one right in the middle of the pouch and one just next to the notebook.  The whole lot zips up so risk of loss of any individual item is minimal.

It might seem a little extreme for some, but for those of us who like to be organised, and faced with having a growing mountain of shooting related documents in different shapes and sizes, it’s nice to have one compact and tidy place to put it all.
