Eagle Accessories

If there is one item of gear I really rate it’s the Eagle Industries cheek piece butt bag, (Shooter’s Stock Pack). I fitted one to my original Riflecraft Light Sporting Rifle and now have them on all my long guns. Not a month goes by when I don’t get a call from someone asking where I got it.

This item is mainly associated with Riflecraft Ltd as they recognised the Stock Pack’s abilities and pushed it hard. So it came as no surprise that Eagle now makes them a range of branded products. General Manager at Riflecraft, Rob Stone, sent me some to look at.

Design Change

All items are made of heavy duty (ballistic) Cordura nylon cloth and padded with closed-cell foam where needed and build quality is 100%.

story continues below...

First up is the Shooter’s Stock Pack. This clam shell design slides over the butt and offers a padded cheek rest, which serves not only to reduce felt recoil but also a comb raiser. It’s attached by Velcro straps, so one size fits all. On the other side is a zippered pouch for small items – Lens Pen, Slope Doper etc and its here we see a change. The original showed elastic cartridge loops on the outside; these have been deleted and replaced with an internal, detachable ammo carrier. Left and right hand versions are available; this to me is still the ultimate rifleman’s accessory.

Prophylactics

Next the Padded Scope and Crown (muzzle) Cover set. Protection uses a 3/8 foam liner and the unit will fit over just about any scope and secures by three, adjustable QD straps. The front and rear ends can be opened so if you need you can fire with the cover in place. A large/adjustable QD strap attaches to a closed-ended sleeve that slips over the muzzle. So your optic and all important barrel crown are protected from the weather and also damage. Rob told me they are working on a larger cover for moderated rifles. This is a good bet for the all-weather shooter. What I think is missing is a carry handle, as that would just finish it off nicely.

The final item; a bolt holster is still in prototype stage. Personally I do not like these things and feel the bolt should be in the rifle and not elsewhere. However, they are very popular and I can see the attraction. The design is a simple scabbard with an adjustable flap that the bolt sits in. With a wide belt loop it’s an effective design.

Cosmetically all items have the Riflecraft crossed rifles logo embroidered on them, which if you use this company gives you a bit of pride in flying the flag.

Overall well designed and thought out gear and worth a look. Colour options include - green, black, tan and camo.
