Gerber Myth Pocket Knife

The Myth series offers a full range of field cutlery with many options on design and usage. If you look at our website (www.gunmart.net) you’ll see a video from the IWA 2012 that covers the whole family. Despite the different models all feature a new design handle using a textured soft rubberised material in a two-tone black and OD finish. The sheaths follow a similar style and show a riveted-on belt loop, rubber retention strap and an integral, carbide sharper at the base.

Myth Folding Sheath Knife

I have three examples here and first up is the Folding Sheath Knife. Measuring 4.75” closed and 8.25” open, it weighs a mere 3.1oz. The high carbon stainless steel, drop point 3.5” blade has dual thumb studs for easy one handed opening. Engagement is by a back lock. It has a choil so you can choke up on the grip and jimping on the first part of the spine for added thumb purchase too. The grip offered is sure and secure in all conditions, and features a lanyard point towards the sculpted ribbed rear section.

Myth Compact Fixed Blade Knife

The Compact Fixed Blade is what the Yanks call a ‘bird & trout’ knife, being small, flexible and handy for prepping smaller quarry. Measuring 7.25” overall, with a 3.25” blade it only weighs an ounce and has to be one of Gerber’s finest small knives ever! Despite its slim profile it’s a lovely knife to handle for those who only need a minimal field dressing blade for small area and cavity work.

Myth Folding Saw

This Folding Saw measures 15.5” open and 8.5” closed and features a 6.75” dual-edge blade with both fine and coarse teeth making it perfect for bones and wood. The ergonomic handle wraps around a rigid, stainless steel liner to provide extra strength. The plunge lock at the top front of the handle provides a secure engagement open or closed. There’s no sheath but at only 2.4oz I’d say it makes an ideal addition to any hunter’s kit bag.
