Hazard 4 Launch pad

By: Chris Parkin

If you like (or need) tactically-styled wallets, pouches and bags that offer a high degree of practicality and are built to last, then check out the Civilian Labs Hazard 4 range on distributor Thomas Jacks website.

For me, the stand-out item is Hazard 4’s Launch Pad, a mil-spec protective sleeve for the ubiquitous iPad that will also fit most tablet PCs, even when equipped with a protective rubber cover. The Launch Pad has a single internal pocket, with a lining that is quilted and coloured to be reminiscent of “the interiors of transport aircraft”. The flap closure is held in place by two large Velcro patches and a loop of shock cord – fitted with a handy tab - that hooks over a buckle on the front. On the back are two pairs of MOLLE strips, the upper pair being backed by Velcro loop material, so you can add any ancillary pouches you need, and the lowest one mounting a steel triangle-ring for attaching a carabineer, etc.

On the front, other nice details include a pair of grommetted air vents with filters for ventilation, a colour-co-ordinated, 3D rubber logo patch, and a “mil-spec-styled” embroidered product designation. The Launch Pad comes in a choice of plain coyote or black, and Multicam or ATACS camo and costs £33.
