Hi-Tec Altitude II Boots

Hi-Tec Altitude II Boots

As part of Hi-Tec’s Light Hiking Range, the Altitude II Boots are suitable for use in all but the toughest of conditions, while being most at home on good trails.

Weighing approx 1.4kg per pair (size 43), the Altitude II Boots give good support, excellent grip on most surfaces, are comfortable on first wearing and made to Hi-Tec’s normal high standard.

The durable carbon rubber outer sole has lugs designed to grip on both up-and-downhill slopes, and is backed by a lightweight compression moulded EVA midsole to give a cushioned shock-absorbing performance for extra comfort.

The boots are board lasted with steel shanks for added rigidity and support and have a Comfort Tec removable footbed made from contoured compression moulded EVA with a wicking fabric surface for even more comfort, support and performance.

The boots’ uppers are made from waterproof Nubuck leather with a soft padded leather collar, a fully gusseted leather tongue, stiffened toebox and heel counter for comfort protection and support.

The laces run through 4 pairs of lace tubes and 2 pairs of hooks, all made from plated rustproof brass set in a strengthened stand that incorporates a generous flex notch, and the boots are available in four colourways, including Dark Chocolate.

During testing I found these boots comfortable straight out of the box, and the level of support and grip on even quite rough terrain was very good. The Altitude II Boots would appear a good choice for anyone wanting footwear that is not too bulky or heavy, for low to medium level three season use, but not recommended for winter conditions.

Available in sizes: men’s 7-13, women’s 4-8, the versatile and comfortable Hi-Tec Altitude II Boots cost around £50.
