Jack Pyke Luggage: 25ltr Rucksack and 95ltr Trojan Holdall

Jack Pyke of England has a comprehensive range of shooting related luggage, some in their own English Oak Camo pattern. This shouldn’t be a surprise as their range of clothing is now so large it makes sense to offer associated products to compliment them. We’ve featured their gun bag in a previous issue but there’s a lot of other products such as gun slips, cartridge bags. What I have here is their Trojan Carryall and the 25Ltr Rucksack. Both are available in the effective and own-pattern English Oak camo or Olive Green.

On Yer Back…

First up a look at the rucksack which is available in 25 and 45-ltr options. As most airgunners carry smaller and necessary accessories in pockets, the smaller pack immediately made me realise this size is by far large enough for the majority of impromptu or short hunting forays. Measuring 20.5 X 12.5 X 8” deep it’s manufactured from hard wearing 600D Nylon and has a full PVC liner so it’s completely waterproof.

For external stowage it has two side zip fastening pouches 11 X 6 1/8 X 2” deep for items you need easy access to without rifling through the pack. The top of the main compartment of the rucksack has a drawstring and toggle fastener to gather it together. It also features a generously sized top section that not only closes the pack but sleeves over the top to be fastened down by two adjustable clip fastening webbing straps. On the pack there are also two sets of D-rings should you want to ‘hang’ the bunnies on as you move around or leave your shoot. The adjustable shoulder straps are well padded and the overall build quality is high.

Trojan Horse

Now to the cavernous Trojan Holdall, also made of 600D Nylon with PVC liner, it offers a humungous 95-ltr capacity and measures 27.5 X 15.75 X 11.75”. Features include a total of six external pockets; two 11 X 11 X 2” zip fasteners on the outer side also have two 10 X 8 ½” bellows-style, clip fastening ones on the outside of these. Two pockets with outer’ mesh organisers are found at either side while the other two double zip fastening pockets measuring 10 X 9 X 2” are positioned on the top (lid) of the carryall.

The main carry handles features a padded Velcro fastening band holds them together, alternately there’s a removable adjustable shoulder strap. This attaches to the bag with two, stainless steel, carabineer-style clips and has a generous sized sliding padded section for shoulder comfort.

If going on a shooting holiday then this’ll hold all your clothing and any other gear you might need. Whilst if going into the field it’ll be a superb carry-all for the pigeon shooter wanting to take decoys, compact rotary machines and camo netting.

Not only do both these items of luggage perfectly compliment the camo clothing, they’re also very useful in respect of the features they offer and of course the very reasonable price tags.
