Jack Pyke Neoprene Accessories

It seems the English Oak range of accessories from Jack Pyke is unstoppable. Not only do we have clothing, bags and other smaller items but now the company is releasing a range of Neoprene accessories. It’s a big list and one that’s growing by the month so from the one’s first launched I’ve cherry picked some of universal use and others more ‘shooting’ specific.

Cover up

First there are the scope covers. Granted, these aren’t a new idea but very useful for a quick cover up on your favourite optic. Neoprene is the ideal material here as it will stretch over the lenses and protect it from knocks, scrapes and the elements. The covers come in three different sizes S (small) up to 8”, M (medium) 10” and L (large) up to 15”. In respect of size, the round ended covering front and back corresponds to the length so there’s no problem getting a cover for a 50mm or 60mm objective on a relatively lengthy optic.

You might not think this such a great product to get excited about, but if you have smaller compact optics such as one the of ‘mini-scopes’ that some airgunners favour these will be a hit with those who like myself have taken a shine to JP Product in English Oak.

Next up is the Stock Guard. This is shaped to fit most shotgun butts and does not roll over, but opens up like a butterfly and secures by a Velcro strip at the bottom. The Neoprene is warm to the touch and raises the comb height a fraction, giving a comfortable cheek weld. There are four shotgun cartridge loops on the right. There are also two other similar items – the Rifle Stock Bullet Holder and Shotgun Stock Cartridge Holder; these are shorter than the Stock Guard but serve much the same purpose, and as the name suggests they have either 4 shotgun shell loops or 4 bullet loops dependent on model.

The Neoprene Countryman rifle sling may be basic but suits all disciplines and as it comes with no swivel attachments it’s design lends it more to the shotgunner, but it is obviously still useful to any rifle shooter.

Products that stood out from the others are the standard 25-shell Cartridge Belt and a similar Cartridge Belt but with an integral belt pouch. The latter features 25 shell loops behind which is a zip-open, full-length lightly padded ‘pouch’; this is very useful for holding extra items such as chokes, fitting keys etc. Both these belts will fit waist sizes from 28” – 50”.

I suppose it would be inevitable for a forward thinking company such as Jack Pyke to move forward with accessories using their English Oak camo. I’m also sure that we’ll see more related ‘kit’ in English Oak coming along soon. For those that don’t need camo, plain black or green are also an option.

All the items that I’ve checked out are of high quality and well designed (some with clever practical additional features). They are all very reasonably priced and well worth a look.
