Ogdens Accessory Bag
By: Jules Whicker
I’ve written about Phil Ogden’s bags in these pages before, but my Christmas pick is his neat Countryman’s Accessory Bag. The example here is in Swedish M90 camo, but you can get them in more traditional green or brown if you prefer. Smaller than a classic game bag, the accessory bag is designed to handle stuff that’s too much for your pockets and not enough for a day sack. An adjustable shoulder strap made from a length of tough black 2”webbing and fitted with a sliding rubber pad, takes the weight, whilst a secondary waist strap keeps the bag from bouncing against your hip, and a generous helping of D-rings and spring-clips let you attach calls, whistles, etc.
The bag has two pockets, each closed by a rugged, metal, double-ended YKK zip.
The main pocket features a removable, washable, half-height liner to catch any liquid spills, and the secondary pocket has built-in dividers to help you organise smaller items of gear. I’ve used mine for a bivvy kit (poncho, liner, pegs and bungees), for trapping (with bait, gloves, an air pistol and a despatching tool), and as a lunch bag!
All Ogden products are proudly made in England, and the quality of all workmanship and materials is guaranteed. The Countryman’s Accessory Bag is £39.99 but Ogden’s range is huge, so for all your shooting luggage and sundries, contact Phil at Ogden Shooting Supplies: tel. 01616 202190 or 07779 429 085 or visit www.ogdenslc.co.uk
