Parker Hale Express Gun Oil And Young’s “303” Cleaner And Solvent

Shooting sports are all about accuracy at the end of the day and, to that end, keeping the barrel clean can be one of the most important duties. Parker Hale’s Young’s “303” is a real old favourite, and whilst there’s now a raft of competitors on the market, all promising technological breakthroughs, this tried and tested formula still takes some beating. A small amount on a cloth patch pulled through the bore, keeps everything clean and protected, and is a good routine to adopt. Young’s “303” is a cleaner, rust inhibitor, and nitro powder solvent all in one product, and yes, if you can allow for that pungent aroma, it’s been around long enough to suggest it really works!

Express Gun Oil

Aside from cleaning the barrel, all firearms benefit from having an oily cloth rubbed over their metal surfaces for ultimate protection; and Express Gun Oil is simply ideal for this. Silicone oils are best avoided for their aggressive nature metal-to metal, which is where Parker Hale’s silicone-free recipe scores. Perfect levels of viscosity, penetration, and rust inhibition combine to great effect, and an impregnated cloth rubbed over all the blueing is recommended good practise after an extended shooting session.
