Ridgeline Drag Bag

Ridgeline Drag Bag

Simple & Effective

Manufactured from heavy-duty nylon in a sort of OD (olive drab) colour the slightly tapering design measures 54 X 8 ½ x 11 ½” at the widest end. The build consists of three padded sections with the outer two overlapping when folded and being secured by four, adjustable, QG straps/ buckles. On one outside panel are multiple loops that I assume are there to allow you to camo it if required. On the other are elasticated runs of Molle-type loops for compatible pouches for extra stowage. Often a light ghillie or camo net can be attached here for the ambush hunter.

The rifle is held internally by a fold-out, butt flap at one end that secures by adjustable straps/QD buckles and a fi xed nose piece at the other, which is big enough to accept a barrel with moderator. There’s also an adjustable strap that fi ts round the pistol grip or neck of the butt to keep the contents in place. Testing showed the DB will easily hold a 50” rifl e including moderator.

On Hand

The bag also offers some useful storage features when shooting. When fully open, on your left is a detachable, Velcro bullet pouch capable of holding 10 cartridges up to around 308 Win in size in loops. Behind and away from this are a series of three loops, which could be good for cleaning rods. Opposite on the right another Velcro-fastened, PVC-lined, fl at pocket for score cards, targets, note book etc.

Carriage is basic but effective, up front is the obligatory drag handle (loop) with wrap-around carry handles that Velcro together in the middle and a wide, detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. Overall a neat and practical design that does the job without being over the top and will suit both target and fi eld needs.

The Ridgeline Drag Bag costs £99.99.
