Rowan Engineering Silencer Adaptors by Matt Gilley

Rowan Engineering have really made a name for themselves in the last few years, emerging as one of the foremost suppliers of custom airgun accessories on the market. They’re a slick operation, and with CNC machinery at their disposal, finely engineered products can be made in quantity, for reasonable money.

Hot off the lathes this month comes Rowan’s range of precision-engineered silencer adaptors, aimed specifically at the Air Arms HFT 500 and the Ultimate Sporter models. The HFT500 comes fitted with an air stripper as standard, but muzzle breaks and air strippers can be noisy. Rowan’s answer is a machined slide-on adapter that slides straight on to a stop, as the internal rim finds the tip of the muzzle. At this point, the unit just nips up onto the gun’s barrel via four small M3 grub screws. With the adaptor firmly in place, any silencer with a standard ½ inch UNF thread can then be employed- simply screwed into place at the muzzle. There’s a plethora of such silencers available, so the adaptor is the perfect accessory to make it all possible.

These specialist adaptors are a sleek design, featuring a flat bottom, so as to allow for clearance between the barrel and the gun’s air cylinder, and can be supplied in either polished or black anodised aluminium.
