Snugpak Sleeka Force 35 Daysack

Snugpak Sleeka Force 35 Daysack

A good daysack is something that you take for granted once you have one, but not having the right one to suit your needs can be a source of annoyance.

The Snugpak Sleeka Force 35 could be the daysack that fits the bill for many outdoorsmen, being well sized at 35 L, well designed, with useful but not over-complicated features, and well made – well up to Snugpak’s usual standard - from a tough waterproofed texturised nylon with quality fittings, bound seams and reinforced stress points.

The Sleeka Force has a simple single-compartment body with a drawstring closed top opening under a well-sized lid that has an elasticated hem and twin, fully adjustable, quick release buckle closed straps to hold it closed.

Between the straps, on the front of the pack, there is a Velcro tab-closed mesh pocket, while the twin, drawcord closed pockets on each side of the pack have elasticated hem top flaps for extra security, and a box shaped compartment on top of the lid is zip-closed.  The base of the pack also has a zipped compartment which houses a permanently attached rain cover with elasticated edges.

The back of the Sleeka Force 35 has a layer of stiffish foam, which will protect your back from hard lumpy kit in the pack and also gives the pack some rigidity, plus a lumbar cushion of soft foam under a wicking mesh for extra comfort and support.

The harness comprises a grab loop, 5 contoured padded shoulder straps with wicking foam on the body side, a stiffened and padded hip belt with a quick-release buckle and wicking foam lining and an adjustable elasticated sternum strap.

The shoulder straps have daisy chain type webbing to take accessories or adjusting the sternum strap position, and D-rings on which to clip extra bits.  The front edges of the side pockets also have pairs of D-rings on which to strap extra or unwieldy kit.

I found the Snugpak Sleeka Force 35 Daysack comfortable with even sizeable (over 40lb) loads, well made and convenient for use during a range of activities, though perhaps the access to the side pockets is a little “fiddly” for my taste.

Available in Black, Olive or Coyote (tan) all with a British 95 pattern DPM waterproof cover, the Snugpak Sleeka Force 35 Daysack is tough and practical and costs around £32.
