SOG Aura Hunt Knife

A good, usable hunting knife is more or less a prerequisite when out and about hunting or indeed undertaking the majority of outdoor activities. Designed by SOG to more or less do the job lot, the Aura Hunt embodies the true SOG ethos whilst being truly affordable -just £47.93p - allowing you to hang one of the sharpest knives you’ll ever own from your belt.

Contained within a tough ballistic nylon sheath with a Velcro loop fastener, the Aura Hunt is exactly 10” in length, the 5” flat ground and straight edge 7Cr13 stainless steel blade incorporating a deep gut hook, substantial cross guard and deep thumb serrations along the top edge. The broad half-tang extends into a fiberglass reinforced handle that in turn is over moulded with Kraton rubber that incorporates two generous swells that fill the user’s palm, the rubber soft and pliant allowing for a good, firm, secure grip no matter how wet or dirty the surface might get. And to ensure the legendary SOG cutting edge is maintained a 2” long diamond sharpener is contained within the handle, the screw thread making certain its stays put until it’s needed. Purposely designed in length and diameter, the small steel will redress the knife’s main cutting edge as well as maintaining the sharp surface of the gut hook, something most sharpeners are unable to achieve.

Weighing just over five ounces, SOG’s Aura Hunt is designed to work hard, the balance perfectly suited to extended periods of use. The Aura Hunt retains a keen cutting edge time after time, extensive use during testing on a whole variety of tasks and surfaces seeing the Aura Hunt shrug them all off and be ready and willing for the next job to hand. Flesh, rope, wood or wire, as far as the Aura Hunt was concerned it made not the slightest difference, if it needed to be gutted, dress or cut, this knife did the job.
