Stoney Point offers a good array of “sticks” but I particularly like the 4:1. It’s very well engineered from seamless aluminium which makes it light and strong, and it’s anodised both inside and out so weather will not lock this one up. It has a telescopic Posi-Lok operation to alter the height and a cushioned grip and adjustable rifle steady head, this one has everything!

The Posi-Lok system is very smooth and only needs a ¼ quarter to unlock and then relock solidly and extends from 32.75 inches to a full 71.75 inches or any length between making it very handy for sitting kneeling and standing shots alike. I am tall and this Stoney Point gives me all the height I need. The rubber foot also helps stop you skidding over granite rocks - believe me!

The 4:1 adjustable head is just that, a push button allows you to ratchet the soft rubber cushioned rifle rest to positions from flat for binocular use to degrees of “V”. It can also be removed to reveal a ¼ inch thread for a spotting scope, camera, or thermal imager NV kit. Below this is a very comfortable synthetic ergonomic grip so you have a secure hold on the sticks and can still raise a thumb or finger to tweak the rifles position if necessary.
