Fancy pellet designs come and go, but it’s no surprise that the dome-headed profile is still with us after all these years. Actually, it’s more accurate to say it still dominates the market. So, why is that? Well, after extensive trials with pointed designs, twin rings, plastic tips, inserts, and all manner of supposedly high-tech tweaks, the humble dome-head is just incredibly efficient.
Top German airgun brand, Weihrauch, has for some while now put its name to a range of pellets, and the F&T Special design is a classic example of timeless quality, fit for purpose. These traditional waisted, shuttlecock-style pellets have that slightly longer, rounder domed head section, synonymous with another top German brand in pellet manufacture, so the origins of these F&T Specials are no mystery.
Open the tin, and the quality and precision are immediately apparent, and at 8.64-grains in .177, they are highly versatile too, comparing well against a host of rivals in this weight class. F&T we should imagine denotes ‘Field & Target’, and there’s no doubt that both challenging environments will be reliably served. Precision pellets, carefully manufactured, and aimed at the more discerning shooter that demands quality ammo, and consistent performance when it matters.
