Electrician Reece Dunne crowned winner of Talent Pool™ shooting competition
  • West Sussex-based electrician Reece Dunne has beaten 70 other hopefuls to be crowned winner of Talent Pool™, a ground-breaking new competition to find one lucky person to be fully trained to shoot at a top national competition next year.

  • Hosted at Southdown Shooting School in Findon, the annual competition involves applicants attending a series of selection days, shoot-offs and gruelling interviews. The glittering year-long prize fund, which is worth more than £9,000, includes a loan of a brand new Zoli Z-Sport shotgun, 12 one-to-one professional coaching sessions, membership at Southdown Shooting School, 5,000 NSI cartridges, all entry fees, Clay Pigeon Shooting Association membership, branded clothing and even travel expenses. Plus Reece will be personally mentored by Southdown’s head coach, Simon Arbuckle.

  • A relatively inexperienced shot, 24-year old Reece said he was thrilled to have won. “I first picked-up a shotgun just four years ago. It was on a have-a-go stand at a local game fair. I have always been interested in sport, and played a lot of tennis and football in the past which I guess has helped develop my hand-eye co-ordination. I will now be training two or three times a week at Southdown Shooting School. My average is already around 73x100, which is really encouraging. I am so determined and ambitious, I really want to win!”

  • Director of Southdown Shooting School, Shaun Miller, added: “Reece was without question the most committed of all the candidates. He had a very positive attitude. The judges also liked the fact he was new to shooting, and showed a lot of natural ability. He really stood out and was the clear winner.” For regular updates on how Reece is progressing, visit: www.facebook.com/edgarbrothers.

  • Talent Pool will be running again in 2017. Watch this space for dates!
