For nearly all outdoor purposes, a stove for cooking, or making a lunchtime brew, has to be small, light and capable of cooking food or boiling water for tea as quickly and efficiently as possible. The Warrior Field Stove from Web-Tex fits these criteria nicely, with added bonuses.
Made from aluminium alloy and stainless steel, this stove is rated at 3500w and in calm conditions it brought a 0.5litre closed pan of water from cold to a rolling boil in less than 3 minutes using a small butane/propane mix canister – which is quite impressive!
The stove sits low and stable on 3 legs that will support pans up to 8” in diameter and up to 5kg in weight and which fold away for transport, but spring lock under a plate below the burner when in use. The stove has an armoured hose to the gas canister connector that incorporates a simmer control, so no matter how big a screw valve gas canister you use (most makes fit), the burner is always low and stable.
For ease and convenience in lighting, the stove has a press button spark generator mounted on one side – so you can forget the matches without worrying! For transport, the stove, which weighs only about 270gms, folds down to pack into its 6 x 9 x 16.5cm stuff sack (which is generously large and could also hold a small brew kit) for neatness and convenience.
Light, compact and efficient, the Web-Tex Warrior Field Stove is useful for solo or group use and costs around £19.95. For more information check out www.web-tex.co.uk
