Spyderco Aqua Salt Black Blade

Spyderco was the first company to produce a 100% rust/ corrosion proof blade steel, called H1. From this they launched their aptly name Aqua Salt, pretty much a do-everything, fixed-blade knife aimed primarily at professional fisherman and sailors of all kinds. It however, also found favour with people from other walks of life who also appreciated the fact it would not corrode. It was discontinued, but due to popular demand it’s back. It seems ideal for outdoorsmen and hunters wanting a no-nonsense and low/no maintenance blade! Now called the FB23BBK Aqua Salt™ Black Blade it shows a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating. Like the original, it features a broad, hollow-ground blade crafted from H-1® steel in a choice of plain and serrated edges. The 4.7” blade’s deep hollow grind, droppoint profile, and full-thickness (3mm) spine provides a superior combination of low-friction cutting performance, point utility, and structural strength. It weighs just 4.6oz. The handle is made of fibreglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) and is injection-moulded directly onto the tang for strength. Their Bi-Directional Texturing™ pattern provides a slip-free grip and ensures superior control, even with wet hands. An injection-moulded polymer sheath with a multiposition G-Clip™ is included.
