White Rock Visor, Desert Cap and Tie with Hydrocool

Much “summer headwear” consists of wide brimmed hats of various materials.  If you don’t like wide brimmed hats then the following items from White Rock might prove interesting to you.

The White Rock Desert Cap is a “one size fits all” baseball cap type design with a buckle adjuster at the back and is comfortable worn just as a plain cap.  However, a long “sun skirt” can be velcroed to the inside of the sweatband to give SPF30+ protection.  Shaped and “split”, the sunskirt gives comfortable and effective protection to the back and sides of your head and face and can be fastened under the chin with Velcro tabs to stop it flapping in the wind.

The X-Lite microfibre fabric of the cap is very light and comfortable.  It’s treated with Teflon for stain and water repellency and with “Health Guard Vital Protection” for insect repellency as well.  A hat that protects you from sun, rain and mozzies… ideal for a British summer!

Inside the front of the sweatband there is a pouch filled with Hydrocool crystals.  Soak this pouch in water for about 3 minutes and they absorb and retain the water, staying moist – and actively cooling you – for up to several days.  Non-toxic, non-flammable, non-hazardous, re-usable and effective, the Hydrocool crystals are very effective.  The sweatband is “anti-bacterial” treated to keep the hat smelling sweet.  Available in Sand, Grey, Olive or Dark Grey, the Desert Cap costs around £27.

For those who want minimalist headwear giving only shade to the eyes, then the White Rock Visor is a good option.  This is a cap peak on a Velcro adjusted headband which has an interior sweatband that incorporates the Hydrocool crystals as in the Desert Cap and gives cooling fashion. Coming in a wide range of colours including Olive and Sand, the White Rock Visor costs around £20.  The visor is available in cotton or microfibre fabrics.

Both pieces of headwear are strongly made and comfortable and if they ever fall apart, White Rock will replace them!

If you want extra cooling, the White Rock Tie is a neat and tidy cotton “Neck Rag” that incorporates the Hydrocool crystals – about 3 times as much as in the front of the cap or visor – and can be worn around the neck, the wrist or the head for extra versatile cooling, and is also treated with the insect repellent.  The tie is available in cotton and costs about £15.  The White Rock Tie comes in a wide variety of colours and prints including Olive, Khaki and Stone.
