When it comes to cold-weather clothing, the first desirable feature that comes to mind is usually insulation, but the outer layer is actually far more important. The Ridgeline Evolution Dynamic Jacket is a high-performance wet weather jacket developed to provide a level of protection, and the features you need, for the toughest conditions. The RL Hi-evolve fabric is highly waterproof (15000 H2O) and breathable (10000 MVT), and does a great job of keeping the water out. It is very lightweight and flexible and doesn’t restrict your movement or add a great deal of weight. The thigh-length jacket covers your waist, an area where water could otherwise get in, and overlaps with waterproof trousers, so rainwater is completely and safely shed.
The full-length two-way zip is protected under a large double storm flap that’s secured with press studs. It continues up to the top of the high collar to fully cover your neck area. Underarm vents, with waterproof zips, are provided to assist cooling, and elasticated storm cuffs prevent water from entering at your wrists.
On the outside are two chest pockets, ideal for keeping your hands warm, and two deep front hip pockets, all with waterproof zips. At the top of the left arm is another small pocket that contains an elasticated strip with loops to hold five rounds of ammunition, which is very handy. Inside the jacket, there are two 12” deep slip pockets, positioned on either side of the front zip.
The newly developed three-piece hood is well-shaped and features a wire peak that provides great protection and doesn’t hinder your vision. There are two elasticated adjustment bands, one around the opening perimeter and one across the back. These allow you to perfectly fit and sit the hood.
