Cannae Transport Duffle Bag

Cannae Transport Duffle Bag

I’m not sure quite how Tactical a bag can be, but a good-sized duffle bag is perfect for those overnight trips or if you are on theme, great for storing extra clothing/ body armour and even goggles and helmet for a day at the club. Tough Duraflex buckles and hardware with unbreakable handles and attachments makes this bag ideal for packing up tightly with essentials and the twin internal dividers, adjustable on Velcro in four locations, so fantastic for separating your base, mid and outer gear for short trips. An extending, internal to external, ‘Boot’ pocket allows the bag to grow for when it gets stuffed back full of unfolded laundry.

If you want to add more storage, especially for hardware and strapped on shooting accessories, there is plenty of Molle attachment, as well as twin pockets at either end surrounded by mesh too. A broad shoulder carrying strap is supplied that clicks securely into place on Duraflex buckles. The 500D Cordura is firm but not too inflexible to sift through, with an overall capacity of 60 litres, sitting 280mm above the 650x350mm footprint. The bag alone weighs 1.6kg but full, you can easily get this way beyond 10kg, yet the padded strap and palm filling grab handles don’t seem too bulky and spread the weight for a comfortable carry. I have dragged this bag across five countries and 10 flights in the last three-months, through baggage handlers keen to destroy ‘something’, with no failures or pulls in the fabric or at the YKK zippered seams.

Being able to keep your clean and dirty gear apart is great for hunting trips, with mud and blood stains you don’t want on your evening wear and the smaller pockets within the baffles are superb for storage of smaller items you don’t necessarily want to pierce the outer shell, like a travel plugs etc.

If you do want to use it as a kit bag or range bag, the weight of ammo is still well retained and carried with the load well distributed. Long pockets on either side show one with ventilation mesh preventing wet gear getting too fruity and the other, fully sealed, is far more discreet. Grab handles on each end, as well as the grips and shoulder strap, are quick to haul the bag in/out of any luggage storage and the outer sheds light rain well, although I do tend to double bag internals anyway. Black or Coyote are the two colour choices and with brutal practicality, I tend to prefer the lighter colour, as it’s easier to see and find.

I have a lot of bags but this one seems utterly perfect for that quick trip where you want to travel light, or an adventure day with extra cold weather kit. Just enough pockets without getting too complicated.
