Pinewood Hunting Set Mouflon

The Hunting Set Mouflon is one of a range of outdoor suits made Scandinavian company Pinewood Outdoors. The colour is brown as opposed to the more prolific camo, but plenty of British hunters prefer this single colour look. That aside the technical build will offer all you need.

The suit is made from Pinewood’s own soft and hard wearing TC-Lite fabric. This soft and quiet material is impregnated with Teflon. The coated membrane of AquaDry-Tex is used in the layer build to ensure all is fully ‘water/windproof and breathable. This hi-tech membrane keeps rain out and allows moisture (sweat) to wick away from the inside, keeping you comfortable and dry. AIR-Mesh ventilation affords extra comfort and all seams are taped . That’s the build, now here’s a rundown of the features this superb design offers!

Good Hood

The jacket has a detachable hood, with a slightly padded peak, drawstring and toggle adjustment plus full wrap around double press stud fastening throat/lower face protector. It’s secured by five heavy duty press studs fasteners with plastic covers. The stowage is both generous and practical and consists of the following pockets; two main bellows-types with flap and stud, above these are zippered and lined hand warmer slots. Another zip-closed one on the upper left breast and at the lower rear a generously sized poachers pocket with press stud and Velcro closure, there’s also a pocket on the sleeve that holds a hi-viz orange safety arm band.

The front has a large double zip fastener with press stud and flap closure and inside is a draw cord. The cuffs are part elasticated and use a double stud adjuster strap. In the inner of the storm flap is a vertical zip-fastening pocket. Internally upper right is another and one more on the lower left of the jacket. Secondary zips are included that will allow the fitting of a fleece inside. Unusually it’s quite universal, during test I used a few of my own and they fitted; nice one…

Strides

The trousers have an elasticated waistband with high back for extra warmth and fasten by zip fly and double press stud. Not my favoured set up, so good to see generous belt loops, braces and buttons too. For stowage there’s two open-topped pockets at the front and two zip-closed at the rear. The legs show flap and stud cargo pockets on the side, with the outer right having a small ‘slash’ zip pouch. The legs are generously cut and the ankles cinch around your boots with adjustable straps.

Available in Hunter Brown, the Hunting Set Mouflon is not dissimilar to the Harkila Prohunter suit, but at around half the price with a similar quality.
