If you thought Musto’s shooting clothing was out of your price range, you should take a look at their new Westmoor jacket, which retails for just £150 and yet is smartly-styled, waterproof, breathable and windproof. It also features a synthetic suede lined collar and chin guard, cuffs with stud adjustments and a rubberised inner water dam, a removable, two-way adjustable peaked hood, two large inner pockets, a zipped inner security pocket, two hand-warmer pockets with microfleece lining and flap retainers, and a front storm flap with concealed studs to prevent stock damage.
I own an excellent Musto GWCT jacket (which cost more than double the price of the Westmoor a couple of years ago), and to be honest, you can hardly tell them apart… I don’t know whether to be impressed or peeved! Meanwhile, for those who favour tweed, and for whom price is less of a concern, Musto have introduced a high-tech machine-washable jacket (£450) and breeks (£225) in a proprietary new fabric that combines a previously unobtainable softness-of-feel and depth-of-colour.
