WE Baby Hi Capa

WE Baby Hi Capa

After me complaining for months on end about the fact that my pistol is too big for my girly little hands, my local Airsoft superstore Rules of Engagement finally cracked and ordered me in a WE Baby Hi Capa Pistol, which I laid claim to just before Christmas – thanks guys! - well in time for me to have a little festive gloat!

This is an airsoft pistol which is operated by ‘green gas’ that is used to charge the reservoir located in the removable magazine which also houses up to 25 rounds of 6mm plastic ball ammunition. The gun has a very realistic blowback operation that leaves the slide locked back when empty.

Strippin’ Easy

This pistol is teeny tiny with a 3.8” barrel and a compact grip which fits very nicely into my hand , with a nice little lip at the base of the grip so it is very comfortable to hold. Also it is incredibly easy to take apart - and that’s me speaking as a complete mechanical dunce. Just pop the slide catch off, remove the magazine and pull the slide forward.

To remove the barrel simply remove the recoil rod and spring then slide the rest of the barrel through the front of the slide – easy! I think it took me (after being shown by a mechanically minded friend – thanks, Ed) about 20 seconds to get this gun apart then probably about another 30 seconds to get it back together, so really not complicated at all which is handy as you have to break this pistol apart to get to the hop-up which is located just underneath the barrel.

Marked Up

story continues below...

There are a few markings on this pistol, with “Baby Hi-Capa 3.8” engraved on one side and ‘Cal .45’ on the other, and the WE logo appearing on either side of the grip. I love the fact that this pistol is all metal, as it has a nice heft to it and weighing in at a decent 1140g it feels like a real gun rather than just plastic, which is always a bonus in my book.

Looks Good, Shoots Good

When I actually shot this I was praying for it to be good (as it was already love at first sight) and luckily it lived up to my expectations. The report is nice and loud and the slide cycles fast and consistently. The pistol has an auto grip safety as well as the manual slide lock.

The magazine supplied holds 25 rounds in a double stack and another nice touch is that all mags designed for the Hi Capa series fit into this gun, so you could have the hi-cap magazines which hang down about 5 inches from the grip and look pretty bad ass.

The only problem so far is that I have not yet found a comfortable leg holster - although the search continues.

No Complaints!

All in all, this WE Baby Hi Capa is exactly what I was looking for, and with the pistol retailing at approximately £90 it’s a HUGE bargain! Not forgetting that spare hi-cap mags are readily available. I have added it to my loadout and I’m now ready to enter any pistol games that come up.

Although I would love to find something to complain about (well I am female after all) I have to say I am very happy with this pistol and could be using it soon at a site near you!
