Lincoln Premier Gold

Lincoln Premier Gold

At times people get fed up of hearing me bang on about Lincoln shotguns, but of all the smoothbores I’ve owned it’s my aged Lincoln that still impresses me the most. Ironically it’s probably the least valuable of all the guns I own, but when it comes to downing pheasants it’s still the one I choose. Likewise, as a fast handler on woodcock and snipe my old Lincoln knows no equal and its what’s in the bag at the end of the day that counts not how fancy or expensive the shotgun you used.

Producing shotguns to suit a variety of purposes exemplified by the recently reviewed Compact, a 20g for junior or women shooters, the 12g Premier Gold model once again redefines purpose. Ostensibly a competition gun, it only takes a few moments before you realise that, to all intents and purposes, it’s actually also a game gun. Endresult being that whatever the shooter is doing, they can have hold of the shotgun they shoot all the time, the ultimate benefit being familiarity with the gun.

The other benefit of Lincoln’s Premier Gold is that you get a whole lot of Italian built shotgun for your £800 outlay, less if you’re prepared to shop around. The other Lincoln advantage you’ll get for your money is reliability due to the fact these shotguns work and work. Ask any Lincoln owner and the one aspect of ownership is that they rarely, if ever, go wrong; the irony being that Lincolns have got to be one of the most under sung shotguns on the market.
