A very nice and most INTERESTING Beaumont Adams double action percussion revolver,
dated 1857, .54 bore, 5 shot cylinder, 5 3/4 inch octag. barrel, strong bright bore,
crisp smooth metal, excellent nipples and screw heads, retains traces of strong blue,
in protected areas, thin blue to barrel, original walnut crosshatched grips. safety bar to
right frame, very unusual spur to trigger guard, action strong.
Foliate engraving to frame. Adams patent and serial number to right frame, clear early
LAC shield marking, near cylinder pin retaining screw.
This pistol inscribed as retailed by Charles Nephew & Co of Calcutta, so this pistol was in
India just in time for the Indian mutiny, "Siege of Lucknow" an all that, interesting period.
So, not just another antique, but a real piece of history
