A good example of an American Civil war era Colt's patent 6 shot 1849 pocket model .31 Cal Percussion revolver. The 3.5 inch barrel engraved on top "Address SamL Colt New York City". All matching serial numbers including the wedge. The side of frame marked Colt's Patent. The engraved cylinder stagecoach scene is very clear. Overall length is approx 9 inches. The Colt pocket was in demand from all over the world. The famous Australian bushranger Ben Hall used the Colt pocket revolver in his daring bank raids and holding up mail coaches. Ben Hall became the first Australian bushranger to be outlawed, he was ambushed and killed by police on 6 May 1865. Action in working order. In good condition with some minor blemishes and scratches to the grips. Ref 1840.This is an obsolete antique item and is sold as a collectors item only. No Licence is required in the United Kingdom.
