Air Sea Warfare (Germany at War)

Other countries built aircraft carriers and the whole film tells how this decision affected the course of the Second World War. The film footage is original German wartime stock and is a mix of B&W and colour and shows aircraft in action which are not held in museums and may have only been seen before as illustrations in books. The German air force was at one time the most powerful in Europe and had more combat experience than several of its contemporaries combined. However, after almost six years of total war it was smashed and only the shadows remained. These have been dusted off in archive film such as this for the appreciation of viewers.
