Polish armour of the blitzkrieg

Polish armour of the blitzkrieg

story continues below...

Poland became an independent state when it emerged victorious in 1921 having defeated Russia in a war which began in 1919. The country built-up its armed forces, which included early tanks such as French-Built FT-17, and added to the force, so that by 1939 it had around 750 armoured vehicles. But when faced with the German attack on 1st September, followed by the Soviet attack on 17th September, with 6000 tanks between them, the Polish forces were overwhelmed.

The text of this book features many more types of AFVs used by the Polish army than many thought they had. Armoured cars, light tanks and self-propelled guns were all there but have been overlooked. This book, with its diagrams and photographs, will be of great value to those interested in armoured warfare and modellers and war gamers will find it an excellent reference source.
