The text is the usual encyclopaedia-style entry and the illustrations are conservative. The cutaway diagrams are nice for those who do not understand the workings of firearms from the Dreyse Needle Gun to the latest experimental OICW also known as the XM29. With hundreds of weapons to choose from, it is hard to understand why the author includes anti-tank weapons in a book that is about small arms.
