Books on tanks always attract a reader’s interest because you never know what may be contained within the work. These titles appeal to military enthusiasts, modellers and war gamers and even the general reader. This latest title in the popular ‘Images of War Series’ covers the tanks used by the Allies in WWII and it contains some surprises. Each chapter is preceded by a short introductory passage, more explanatory than detail, before showing a series of photographs with extended captions. The author covers the tanks used in the pre-war period up to the late war period, showing designs which continued in service after the war. The photographs include original wartime images, museum exhibits and examples of tanks in private ownership today. All in all, a very nice reference guide for any ‘tank spotter’.
