Redfield Raider rangefinder

The Redfield Raider 550 Rangefinder does just that and is incredibly easy to use, simple in format, bomb proof in construction and certainly won’t break the bank of your average stalker or rifle enthusiast.

story continues below...

Finished in either Mossy Oak Break – Up or plain matte black, the Raider 550 is simple, robust and takes the guesswork out of measuring the distance between you and the potential trophy stag you’re about to add to your collection. The Raider 550 is less than 4” in length and weighs a mere 5oz and rubber clad to resist the elements. It’s powered by a single 3v CR2 lithium battery and is based around a 6x20 magnification monocular design which means you can also use it for rapid spotting.

Using a laser distance measurement system, the 550 utilises a series of infra-red pulses emitted from the small side lens and then reads the reflected light with the lower of the two larger lenses that works out the distance from the time it takes for the pulses to return. So by depressing the single button located immediately above the rubber cupped eyepiece, the 550 will give you quick distance calculations from 6 to 550 yards in a flash - take it from me, it’s seriously quick. Pressing and holding the button will let you scan the landscape, giving multiple ranges for landmarks or targets.

Complete with lanyard and belt looped ballistic nylon case, the Raider 550 is actually compact enough to slip into the top pocket of your shirt and yet big enough to do the business within seconds of acquiring your next target.
