Discovery Universal 2 piece mounts

In today’s marketplace, where telescopic sights come with an array of body tube sizes, it can be awkward to source the right size mounts for the job. Well, what if one mount could do the job for several different scopes?

Optics company, Discovery has just introduced a novel idea that deals with just such a situation, and it’s their new Universal 2-Piece Mounts. The design sees the main aluminium rings sized for 34mm scope body tubes, which are now becoming increasingly popular, especially in high mag FT rigs. But the mounts also come complete with two sets of plastic inserts. One is sized for 1” body tubes and the other for the larger, 30mm tubes. This means shooters on a budget effectively have three mounts in one, which can be handy if you have several different scopes to use and just want to keep costs down. The two halves of the plastic ring just push into place, and the new dimension is then set, and with double screw fastenings, everything is robust and secure.

The mounts are available in high (16mm base height) or low (10.5mm base height) specifications, and there is a choice between 11mm dovetail or Picatinny, so most options are covered.
