T R Robb Customising & Tuning

Terry (TR) Robb has long been associated with customised parts and tuning kits for spring powered and pre-charged pneumatic air rifles, so it should come as no surprise that he has now turned his attention to CO2 guns Here we are concentrating on his tuning parts for the SMK QB/XS 78/79 series of CO2 powered rifles, but he also supplies customising and tuning parts for many other brands.

Professional Tuning & Servicing Kit for the SMK QB/XS 78/79 models (£61)This kit consists of a Modified Pellet Probe, Modified Exhaust Valve, Stainless Steel Piercer, Modified Piercer Body, Modified Hammer Valve Block, Grease, MS 1 lube, a full set of high quality replacement seals and easy to use instructions on DVD.
The standard power of these guns is usually between only 6ft/lbs to 8ft/lbs and this kit brings them nearer the 12 ft/lbs for hunting and vermin control. Of course you will need to check the power after fitting to make sure the gun does not exceed the legal limit of 12ft/lbs. Don’t forget to state which calibre you require or .22 will be sent.

The Modified Piercer Body (which does away with the tube, gauze and fibre washer of the standard body) is part of ths kit, but can be purchased separately for £24. All the other parts are available separately, but it is much cheaper to buy the whole kit.

Stainless Steel Rearset Trigger (£20) and Trigger Tuning Kit (£7)

The standard SMK QB/XS 78/79 trigger is set too far forward for some users, so this replacement Stainless Steel Rearset Trigger from Terry Robb gives a trigger blade position set much further back, making it more comfortable to use and giving greater control of the trigger pull.  Made of solid stainless steel this accessory won’t flex or break.

Also available is the Trigger Tuning Kit which can be used with or without the Rearset Trigger Blade. The Trigger Tuning Kit eliminates excessive movement and gives finer control settings. This can make a huge difference for very little money.  Instructions and parts needed are included.

Multi-shot Lead Ball Repeater magazine for the SMK QB/XS 78/79 (£44)

This 20 shot magazine is designed to turn your SMK QB/XS 78/79 model into a repeater designed to operate with lead ball ammunition.  These balls weigh around 15.5 grain in .22 calibre and around 8.5 grains in .177 – both of which are ideal for hunting and accuracy. The magazine is easy to load from the side and easy to fit with just two screws, and it will operate just as fast as you can operate the bolt.

Lead ball can be harder hitting than a lot of waisted pellets, so is ideal for pest control operators who may need more than one shot, the magazine prevents fumbling with pellets singly in a hunting scenario that requires a quick second shot.

The low profile of the magazine means you can still use your open sights or a scope if fitted using high mounts.

Silencer Adaptor (£20)

This adaptor does away with the small grub screw that is usually used to ‘lock’ unthreaded moderators to barrels. The T R Robb adaptor uses a thread locking compound (like Locktite) to fix it on, but it can still be removed by heating. It allows you to fix almost any standard threaded airgun moderator to your rifle
