Armex Buckingham Shotgun Slip

Over the years, I’ve seen all sorts of items being used to transport shotguns; gun slips, hard cases and rifle bags.
From the sublime to the ridiculous in fact; home-made efforts that were functional yet hideous, to traditional ‘Leg O Mutton’ cases that allow the shotgun to be transported broken down into action and barrels. The latter are very nice of course but quite expensive to buy.
In my option, a purposemade, leather shotgun slip has always got to be the best, most affordable option and a perfect example is the Armex Buckingham Shotgun Slip.
The quality leather slip is dark chocolate in colour, 51-inches in length and 8-inches at its widest end, where there is a flap secured by a heavy-duty strap, fastened with a brass buckle. There’s another strap and buckle at the large end, which secures the end, as does the full-length zip. The other end of the slip has a reinforced section, or ‘block end’, that protects the muzzles during transport. The interior is lined with a plush, synthetic sheepskin type fleece material.
On the non-opening side, there is a double thickness carrying strap, as well as an adjustable, full-length shoulder strap. At the top end of the slip, there is a leather loop that could be used to hang it up if required. The Armex Buckingham Shotgun Slip certainly protects a shotgun from dents and scratches whilst in transit and does so in style. You might expect a leather slip of such quality to be quite expensive but it’s an absolute bargain at around £89.99 from all Armex stockists.
Also in the Buckingham range are a pair of premium quality, all leather cartridge bags. The first holds approximately 125 cartridges and costs around £49.99 and a larger version, that holds approximately 130 cartridges is £50.99.
