BERETTA WORLD SPORTING CHAMPIONSHIPS, 30 JUNE, 1 & 2 JULY 2017

2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the Beretta World!

First held in 1987 at Aspley Shooting Ground, Hampshire, The Beretta World has become a prestigious event in the shooting calendar.  And in this anniversary year, it seems fitting that the shoot will once again be held in Hampshire, in the beautiful grounds of the Holywell Estate, Swanmore.

  • Following feedback from competitors we will be running the Beretta World from Friday 30th June – Sunday 2nd July 2017, in order to accommodate more competitors over the weekend. We expect to attract over 1,000 entries, as we have done for many years now. The Holywell Estate is situated in the new South Downs National Park, in the unspoilt rolling countryside of the Meon Valley.  Holywell extends to over 800 acres of varied landscape including ancient semi-natural woodland, river meadows and historic parkland. Holywell House, believed to date back to the 1700s is at the heart of this working estate. We look forward to once more staging the event in this glorious setting and are most grateful to the Earl and Countess of Clarendon and their family, for agreeing to host the event again.   The format of the Beretta World will be the same as last year; 120 targets will be shot over 16 stands, with two courses running simultaneously. Squads will start on one or other of the courses but will then move to the alternate course once the first has been completed. Both courses will be shot in the same order by all squads. Many people will already have encountered this system at other major shoots.

  • Another change which was implemented last year, was the removal of the final. Similarly this year there will be no shoot off with the highest score over the three days winning outright. The Beretta World has become renowned for creating challenging and original courses that can test the more able shooter without excluding the less experienced shot. 2017 year will be no exception. Once again there will be a huge array of prizes from our generous sponsors, more details of which will be published closer to the event. We will be looking to make this, the 30th Anniversary of the Beretta World, a year to remember! So put the dates in your diary now and we’ll try and book the sunshine! Undoubtedly, it will be a fantastic weekend! Shooters can enter the competition online, via www.berettaworld.co.uk
