Hatsan launches new fully shrouded air rifle - the Nova

Award-winning Turkish gunmaker Hatsan has launched a new pre-charged pneumatic air rifle, the Nova, which is fully shrouded. Exclusively distributed in the UK by Edgar Brothers, the 10-shot side-lever action air rifle is available in three calibres: .177, .22 and .25. With a Quiet Energy fully shrouded barrel and intergrated sound moderator, the Nova is approximately 50% quieter than most air rifles, making it ideal for the pest controller, particularly where noise is an issue. With its precision rifled and choked barrel, the Nova lives up to Hatsan’s usual standards of accuracy and the genuine Turkish walnut stock is ambidexterous. A Montecarlo cheekpiece ensures excellent eye-to-scope alignment. An adjustable rubber butt pad allows elevation and fit to be changed ensuring a comfortable and ideal fit for each shooter. The Nova comes with a dovetail groove receiver for both 11mm and 22mm Weaver scope mounts, while a Picatinny rail mounted below the fore-end allows for a lamp to be fitted for pest control at night.

Hatsan’s Quattro trigger comes as standard: a two-stage fully adjustable gold-plated Match trigger as well as a metal trigger guard. The safety has both manual and automatic settings and the patented anti-knock system will prevent gas being wasted when the air rifle is knocked or bounced. With a detachable rotary magazine, the .177 and .22 hold 10 rounds, while the .25 holds 9, and the air rifle comes complete with two magazines. The Nova is fitted with sling-swivels and also part of the package is a 500cc cylinder, which has a fill pressure of 250 Bar and an expected 210 shots per fill for the .177, 190 for the .22 and 170 for the .25 calibre. Muzzle velocities for the Section 1 version are expected to be 1,220fps for the .177; 1,100fps for the .22 and 1,020fps for the .25, though these will vary according to pellet weight.
