Talent Pool™ nominated for CPSA’s Development Initiative of the Year award
  • Ground-breaking new clay shooting competition, Talent Pool™, has been nominated for the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association’s (CPSA) Development Initiative of the Year award, which aims to recognise a project that has achieved the greatest success in developing the sport through attracting more shooters and encouraging new participants.

  • The premise of Talent Pool™, which was organised by Edgar Brothers and Southdown Shooting School, was to find one person to be fully trained to shoot at a top national CPSA competition next year. After a series of selection days, shoot-offs and gruelling interviews, electrician Reece Dunne beat 70 other hopefuls to be crowned winner.

  • The glittering year-long prize fund, which is worth more than £9,000, includes a loan of a brand new Zoli Z-Sport shotgun, 12 one-to-one professional coaching sessions, membership at Southdown Shooting School, 5,000 NSI cartridges, all entry fees, Clay Pigeon Shooting Association membership, branded clothing and even travel expenses. Plus Reece will be personally mentored by Southdown’s head coach, Simon Arbuckle.

  • The winner of the award is decided by CPSA member votes. Voting opens on Friday 2 December and closes 16 January. To vote, visit: www.cpsa.co.uk.
