The new Yildiz Pro offered by Entwhistle Guns of Preston will cause many to look twice. It is a shallow action, Perazzi style, gun with Boss 'draw' and 'wedge' bolting and a central cocking bar similar to an MX8 or 12. The mechanism has fixed locks powered by coil springs like an MX12 and the quality, especially at the price (RRP £2,250), greatly impresses. Even on close inspection you could easily mistake the Yildiz Pro for a Perazzi or Kemen. The wood, turkish walnut, is excellent and the form of the stock pleases with good shapes, neatly cut checkering and traditional oil finnish. The machining – taking advantage of CnC technology in which this firm specialises – is first class. Wood to metal fit is very good too. Options include black or silver actions, an adjustable comb and 28 or 30” multichoked barrels. It is supplied in a ABS case with 5 chokes. The gun has 3” chambers and is proofed for steel in the UK.
