Water-To-Go Bottle

Water-To-Go Bottle

Wherever you are, it is always important to have good, safe, drinking water, and the new Water-to-Go Water Filtration System offers a handy way of making this easily available.

There are two sizes of Water-To-Go bottles, 75 and 50cl, and I have been trying out the larger model. The 75cl Water-To-Go bottle comes in black or white with a choice of black, blue, green, pink or red silicon ‘logo’ sleeves, which offer an improved grip, and the bottle features a ‘waisted’ design. The screw-on lid has a flip-up drinking tube and the replaceable filter is fitted to the inside of the lid. The filter measures some 6.5 x 3.5cm and uses a 3-in-1 filtration system, designed for NASA, to remove 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, protozoa and cysts; it also reduces or removes fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals, bad tastes and smells from any non-salt water source. The filers use Nano Alumina with activated carbon, plus other filtration media, and while the carbon takes out chlorine and some heavy metals, it is the Nano Alumina which gives a positive electrical charge when wet and attracts the negatively charged protozoa, bacteria and viruses.

Tried and Tested

Tested by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, BCS laboratories in the USA and Bangalore Test House in India, the Water-To-Go filters were proven to remove over 99.9% of the contaminants – which I find very impressive. In my own tests on turbid and chlorinated water, the filters certainly gave clear and good tasting water. The bottle was easy to drink from, water-tight when closed, and simplicity itself to use, though squeezing water from the bottle into a container proved more difficult due to the stiff nature of the plastic bottle, and using the bottle as a ‘gravity filter’, by inverting the bottle proved ineffective–but these are not what the Water-to-Go bottle was intended for!

As a drinking bottle, the Water-to-Go bottle was easy to use, with an excellent flow rate. Standing about 21.5cm tall and about 8cm wide and weighing some 138g, the Water-to-Go 75cl bottle fits many available pouches etc. and is conveniently sized. Each filter will give 200L of filtered water or last about three-months at around 2L per day and compared to buying bottled water gives great savings in both money and generation of plastic waste. One of the more convenient and effective portable water filtration systems I have tried, the Water-to-Go 75cl bottle costs around £24.99 with replacement filters costing around £17.99 for two.
