In response to a growing demand for a tougher, stronger multi-function knife, Whitby and Co, specialist distributors of high quality outdoor gear, have just launched the new Wenger Blaze Ranger 55 in the UK. This rugged knife from Wenger is designed to give greater functionality and cope with even the toughest tasks. The eye-catching orange handle is unmistakable and makes this a tool that you’ll find hard to lose.
The Blaze Ranger features the high quality craftsmanship that is synonymous with the manufacturers with extra strength yet stylish to boot. Great for hikers, campers as well as fishing and hunting enthusiasts, this is a multi-function knife that can be relied on in many situations.
With a closed length of 5” and weighing 158g the Blaze Ranger is still not what you could call cumbersome. It holds a 4” long penknife style blade, ideally suited for skinning, gutting and first prep on most medium game. The very strong blade has part ridging along the spine towards the rear to aid grip for those ‘finer’ tasks and locks out very securely due to the very strong liner lock. To return it back into the handle you press a button on the left of the upper part of the knife bearing the famous Wenger ‘Swiss Army’ logo white cross on red. This pushes the lock liner back to allow you to return the blade back into the handle.
Other tools include a bottle opener with hard wire bending notch, a medium flat head screwdriver, corkscrew, can opener, awl, smaller screwdriver and a 4” aggressively toothed wood saw.
The Wenger Blaze Ranger 55 is priced at £52.96. Contact Whitby and Co on 01539 721032 or visit www.whitbyandco.co.uk for the nearest stockists.
