Armoured Warfare in the Battle of the Bulge 1944-1945
- Last updated: 26/04/2019
There are many books on the Battle of the Bulge; some very weighty and others sorely lacking an impact. The author has managed to pull off something very difficult, by presenting a highly complicated campaign in an accessible format. He breaks each phase of the battle into chapters, which he offers as ‘bite sized’ pieces that are jam-packed with a wealth of detail. He has also gathered an excellent selection of images, some are familiar, but many are previously unseen, which echo the old dictum that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’. He supports these with extended captions, which include more detail in their descriptions. As a general read, or an introduction to the battle, this is an ideal work. War gamers and modellers will find this a useful reference work, also.
