Sometimes one just wants clarification of the date of a particular event or who the highest scoring fighter ace was and this book delivers just that. But do not go looking for anything deeper. Key dates and commanders all make sense in this series of lists, but why the author would want to include the top ‘pin-up’ stars and computer games is a mystery. The main part is useful to anyone studying key stages in WW II but cross-reference is advised because like many books such as this there are bound to be mistakes and there are a few in this title. It is an interesting little book but there are no illustrations which is a pity because readers like to see what they are reading about.
