Essex HMVA Annual Winter Gathering

  • Don’t miss the Essex HMVA winter gathering which is being held at the Promenade Park in Maldon between 10am and 3pm on Sunday the 13th of January, it’s an informal gathering of military vehicle owners from the Essex area and a great opportunity to get out and blow the cobwebs away. The public are more than welcome to come along and see the vehicles as well as meet the owners. (Entrance is Free of charge).

  • Colin Tebb, chairman said: “This is the first military vehicle event of the year in the Essex area, and it’s always a surprise to see what arrives, we’ve had everything from Jeeps to Tanks in previous years - We’d like to thank Maldon council who generously allowed us to hold this event on their site”. About the Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association The Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association (EHMVA or Essex HMVA), Charity number: 1155705 was formed in 2014 to ensure preservation and education of Military vehicles and equipment. We also support the British Legion fund raising activities, supplying vehicles as a backdrop for their fund-raising collections and for the local Normandy Veterans association. Attention is paid to ensuring the authenticity of vehicles, equipment and displays to ensure that all our events are of educational value for members of the public and to ensure that the younger generations are aware of our heritage. We also attend visits to schools to assist in education by reinforcing the concepts taught in key stage 2 of the National Schools History Curriculum. Our member's historic military vehicles have appeared in many films, TV series and documentaries including The Monuments Men, Fury and Danger U.
