Discovery One Piece mount

The type of mount used on an airgun is important, and one-piece types are best when fitting a scope to spring-powered models. The spring and piston bottoming out in the compression cylinder, produce a unique recoil effect that can cause some two-piece mounts to move, possibly affecting the zero and accuracy. A one-piece provides better contact and significantly more grip, to combat this. The Discovery One-Piece Universal Mount is well up to the task. It has a total length of 5”, weighs 6oz and a 2.75” base. It can accommodate body tube diameters of 25.4mm, 30mm and 34mm, making it versatile. The ring diameters are altered using plastic, space inserts (supplied). These sit in the rings and lock into place once the optic is in position. The split ring clamps lock together at a diagonal, and the centre of the rings are 80mm apart. The clever design incorporates reversible base clamps, which switches the grip from a dovetail rail to a Picatinny specification. The setup also includes a small angle inclination indicator wheel, that screws into the side. This can be used by the shooter to help calculate their ballistic drops when shooting at an angle, as they can have a significant effect on a pellets point of impact. Overall, this mount has a lot going for it.
