Propper range bag

Propper range bag

Range bags come in all shapes and sizes with 101 pocket options. The various options are well-worth looking into because magazine storage alone is often not what UK shooters require and adjustable internals, like those seen here, can be a better option. The Propper range Bag, available in Black and Olive, comprise spacious padded main compartment with double zipper pulls for quick access, and of extreme help, the brightly coloured interior makes finding what’s in it far easier. The twin dividers partitioning the compartment have infinite positioning adjustment with hook/loop fasteners for the larger kit.

Secondary to these, are a slotted end pocket for fast access to range cards or ID and two large side pockets that fold out. The left side folds out into three sections, remaining flat to the floor with an upper mesh pocket, this has been ideal for an impromptu range mat to catch all the ejected brass from a rifle, as well as storing important range notes. It carries elasticated loops for pens or small tools and accessories like a Kestrel. The opposing side also folds flat to the ground with twin zippers, six pistol magazine pockets, which are in fact ideal for tools and cleaning accessories on the range; although, were I designing these, I’d perhaps make two larger pockets, but the U.S. Market is the king I suppose.

Attention to detail

External MOLLE webbing on the front and side enable additional pouches and accessories with large hook/loop panels for ID or moral patches. A bag, rather than rucksack, stays flat to the floor, so easy just to drop items into, knowing they ‘must be in there somewhere’, with robust grab handles to carry short distances or, a padded shoulder strap for longer transit. The orange liner makes it easier to find small items and simply allows more light to bounce around inside, not just a dead black hole. Construction is 100% polyester, showing attention to detail on all joints and seams with durable zips that can be locked together. Rubberised pulls are added to the securely knotted tags too!

I can use this bag for changing daily needs, simply because it is easier to see kit inside and does not have endless subsections that like a language, you almost need to learn subconsciously on everyday carry luggage. It has also been ideal for clay shooting, with just enough space for the essentials, ear defenders, cartridges, glasses and a bottle of water.
