It comprises of a ball hitch clamp attachment with secure lock, securing bolts and a heavy duty galvanised steel carrier. These come in two sizes to fit the game species you shoot, 1000mm (most popular) and 1200mm. That is the width dimension with all the carriers being 500mm length from front to back. The steel and galvanising is typical German quality with high grade steel that does not bend or fracture and a really thick galvanising layer with all the weld joints and corners liberally covered. HOW IT WORKS

The carriers are self explanatory just load your item into it and secure it safely. The hand clamp is simplicity itself, it comprises of a metal housing 4” x 3” that retains the two halves of the ball hitch clamp. The fixed section is secured to the outer wall and remains static but there is a large 10mm bolt fitted to the exterior that allows adjustment to give a lighter or firmer grip to the ball hitch when mounted. The other side has a moveable half of the clamp that pivots to allow the trailer ball hitch to enter and then become sandwiched between the two halves when the large exterior handle of 11” long is locked down. This handle has a rubber grip and a pivoting adjustment but it is set for a 90° arc and there is also a padlock eye hole to secure it in place to stop untoward removal (padlock supplied) and there is a retractable safety plunger that has to be pulled out and rotated before the operating clamp handle can be moved.

All together a simple device but very well engineered and thought out. It takes seconds literally to pull out the safety plunger, lift the handle to open the clamps jaws then fit on to the ball hitch on the vehicle, centre the carrier and lower the handle and it is securely locked in place. I jumped up and down on the unit and it remained perfectly in place so no fears of it working loose on a bumping track back to the logging shed or farm buildings. Being 500mm deep the Transporter does not stick out that much from your vehicle and complies with the law. However, for night driving some form of lighting kit might be a consideration.

CONCLUSIONS

Often the best ideas are the simplest and the Heck Game Transporter is a very effective way to carry all manner of objects without soiling your vehicle. There are enough options to cater for most peoples needs but if not the hand attachment clamp only option will appeal to you. Even if you are an occasional stalker the carrier has obvious benefits, especially if transporting deer on a hot day in the summer. Professional stalkers, forestry workers, gamekeepers, farmers and wildlife rangers could also think up a few unique uses for this system and would make an invaluable tool I am sure.
