The new Wildgame Innovations Terra 8 Lightsout wildlife camera is an entry level unit delivering high quality images and video capture up to 30-seconds in duration, using covert infrared illumination. 36 LEDs enable hi-resolution 8-megapixel image capture, with a 1-second trigger time that makes the Terra 8 ideal for monitoring species’ movements or bait stations up to 55ft away. The low-price disguises great functionality with simple with four button keypad beneath the underside flap to program time and date that are stamped to the recorded footage. Eight AA batteries power the unit for excellent daytime colour image rendition, followed by black and white after dark. Everything is stored to an SD card of up to 32GB capacity with two supplied bungee cords to fasten the camera onto a tree or post. Studs are moulded into the rear of the casing to stabilise fitting against uneven surfaces like bark. Although not the best image quality available, the price balances out to using multiple units for coverage of much larger areas to the benefit of those tracking larger locations more than specific medal quality, or recurrent visits of specific animals of the same species.
